The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands opened the third leg of its
exhibition, ‘Windows To My World’, on Cayman Brac during the Easter weekend.
Windows To My World is a collection of images, poetry and prose by local
artist, Rabeeah Dilbert. The exhibition’s curator, Natalie Coleman, said the
Gallery was extremely pleased to have the
opportunity to bring the exhibition to the Heritage House, where it was
currently on display.
“Rabeeah was born in Cayman Brac,” she explained, “so it seemed fitting that
her debut exhibition should end here at Heritage House.”
Rabeeah is a self-taught photo and graphic artist whose images offer the
spectator a closer insight into the daily life and culture of Saudi Arabia, her
adopted home.
Her work covers themes including, the freedom she feels as a covered Muslim
woman, the beauty of the bearded Muslim man, and the desperation of children in
Palestine.
