LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Caymanians deserve better

Wednesday,  June 1, 2005

Dear Sir,

I agree with Dr Slutsky. I just came from a meeting in Europe where indeed very modern cardiology and cardiological surgery is being performed in Aalst (Belgium), but really this does not have anything to do with the Cayman Islands.

These islands are where the US and Europe were in the late 70s in regards to cardiological care. It would have to be a very long time before the George Town Hospital comes close to where people with money would like to have their medical (cardiological) problems attended.

At the present time, let’s not worry about the very rich and concentrate on the average Caymanian – they deserve better than what they have at the present time.

Frank Pallares
Cardiologist.
