HospiceCare Christmas Card
HospiceCare is inviting the public to become part of the 3rd Annual Cayman HospiceCare Giant Community Christmas Card by placing your special holiday message in the card with artwork by Hannah Cook. Call Jennifer at 926-2761/945-7447 or email jengrant@candw.ky  by 25 November.

The Photography Club

National Gallery Lecture Series
The National Gallery presents “Dancing to Art” lecture and discussion with exhibition’s adjunct curator David Bridgeman, painter Al Ebanks, and dancer Susan Barnes Pereira on Thursday 24 November at 7:00 pm at the Harbour Place location. No admission charge. Wine and hors d’oeuvres served.

Underwater Wedding Feature

“Surfacing” - Art Exhibition
New paintings by April Bending will be displayed at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa from 8 December with wine generously donated by Jacques Scott.

Parent Education Meetings
The National Parenting Programme invites parents and children, as well as the extended family and community, to participate in the continuing district meetings, entitled “Bridging the Gap…Helping our Children Achieve their Full Academic Potential”, which continues on Thursday 24 November at North Side Civic Centre; time – 7:00 pm. Female Cancer Awareness Month
The Cayman Islands Cancer Society will be holding a series of district awareness sessions in the month of November to promote awareness of cervical, ovarian and endometrial cancer. Monday 28th – East End United Church Hall. Session begins at 7:30 pm and vouchers for free Pap smears will be offered. Refreshments will be served. Call 949-7618 for more information.

Couples Workshop Back By Popular Demand
The Department of Counselling Services’ Counselling Centre will host a repeat of its popular couple’s workshop “Fighting for your Marriage” on Wednesday 23 November between 6:00 and 8:30 pm, and Saturday 26 November from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm at their office in the West Wind Building, 3rd Floor, North Church Street. Cost is CI$50 per couple. Call 949-9789 to register for additional information. 

Women’s Quilting Ministry
The Women’s Quilting Ministry meets to make quilts for the less fortunate from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Monday evenings at the Church of God Chapel on Walkers Road, Room 4 Chapel Fellowship Hall. JGHS Reporting Evenings
Reporting evenings will take place for students who attend all Year Groups at John Gray High School, in the Assembly Hall from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm.  Year 12 – Wednesday 23 November; Year 11 – Tuesday 29 November; and Year 10 – Thursday 1 December.

Gimistory
Gimistory is fast approaching and the Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) advises that it will run from 25 November to 3 December. The CNFC is looking for volunteers from each of the districts to help with the Gimistory Fish Fry on each of these evenings.  If you think you can help please contact the CNFC at 949-5477.  Free T-shirt to those participating.

Dental Clinic closed for repairs
To facilitate urgent repairs and refurbishing, the Health Services Authority wishes to inform the public that the Dental Clinic at the Cayman Islands Hospital will be closed until Friday 25 November.  Limited service will be provided through Dental Caravan and Bodden Town District Health Centre. The Health Services regrets any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause.

CI Business & Professional Women’s Club
The Club will be holding an international campaign entitled “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence”, which will take place from 25 November to 10 December 2005.  Program details will be released closer to the campaign dates.  For further details, please contact Seema Kapoor at 949-5829 or Bev Banks at 949-3435.

Class of ’84 Reunion

Christmas Bazaar
The Pink Ladies will be holding their Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 26 November at the Loyola Hall in the Catholic School on Walkers Road from 2pm – 5pm. Teas will be served with home made cakes, tea breads, cookies and sandwiches. Stalls include, Country Kitchen, Plants, Crafts, White Elephant, Children’s Fun Corner and Helium Balloons. There will be musical entertainment throughout the afternoon featuring the Cayman National Choir performing favourite Christmas carols, Jackie Balls National Dance Group and a steel band among others. Come and join in the fun and stock up on Christmas gifts.

National Trust Hike
The National Trust will be having a guided Mastic Trail Hike deep into Cayman’s wild interior, on Saturday 26 November from 8:00 am. $10 for non-members; $5 for members. Contact Marnie Laing at 949-0121 or email mlaing@nationaltrust.org.ky  for more information. 

The National Trust also advises that interested persons can order National Trust Christmas Cards. Custom orders for corporations or individuals are also available.

Health Insurance Forum
The Ministry of Health and the Health Insurance Commission invite the public to a meeting about Health Insurance in Cayman on Tuesday 29 November at the Mary Miller Memorial Hall in Red Bay from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  All are invited to ask the experts; give your opinion. Admission is free. Call 946-2084 for further information.

Education Department
The public is advised that the Education Department has moved back to its original premises, and is now open as normal on Thomas Russell Way.  As a result, the temporary office in Royal Plaza is now closed to the public.  Call 244-1733/4/5 or 925-8057 for more information or to contact the Department.

Charity Christmas Cards
NCVO Charity Christmas cards are now on sale. These cards raise funds for the NCVO and NCVO Children’s Services. Cards will be sold for CI$8.00 for a pack of 10 or $75.00 for 100.  Contact Janice Wilson at the NCVO on 949-2124 or email ncvo@candw.ky  to place orders. 

Gospel Festival CompetitionIf you are a songwriter or singer of Gospel music, the 2006 Gospel Festival Competition committee is inviting you to showcase your talent at the upcoming competition.
