Bush elected vice chair of Caribbean OCT Council

Premier McKeeva Bush was elected Vice Chair of the Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories Council on Thursday. High level political representatives of 10 Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories convened for the first time in Curacao where they agreed to establish a regional Overseas Countries and Territories Council. Chief of Staff Leonard Dilbert said the Premier and his delegation were very warmly received, treated with the highest respect and offered enthusiastic support from other delegates and their hosts, the Prime Minister and Government of Curacao. Opposition files no confidence motion

True to his word, the Leader of the Opposition Hon Alden McLaughlin filed a motion of no confidence in the premier of the Cayman Islands, in the Legislative Assembly on Friday, 27 April. In a press release, Mr McLaughlin announced that he had filed the motion, which was seconded by North Side MLA Ezzard Miller. The opposition had earlier this week called on Premier McKeeva Bush to step aside from so that the three police investigations he is currently facing could proceed independently, but this fell on deaf ears.
