The 41st Carifta Games, which were conducted in Bermuda over the Easter weekend, are now history and it’s on to the Bahamas in 2013.
Jamaica continued its dominance of the annual competition, garnering a total of 78 medals—34 gold, 25 silver, 19 bronze.
Runnerup honours were claimed by the Bahamas squad, which amassed a total of 40 medals—14 gold, 14 silver, 12 bronze. Trinidad and Tobago made the third-most podium appearances, resulting in 22 medals — 6 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze.

Placement for the individual members of the Cayman Islands follows:
Alex Pascal – Boys under 20 Javelin Throw — fourth
Ashleigh Nalty – Girls under 20 High Jump — fifth
Tiffany Cole – Girls under 17 1500 metre run — fifth
- Girls under 17 800 metre run — eighth
Jonathan Frederick – Boys under 17 Javelin Throw — sixth
- Boys under 17 Shot Put — seventh
- Boys under 17 Discus Throw — seventh
Trenvick Coleman – Boys under 17 High Jump — no height
Antonique Strachan of the Bahamas received the Austin Sealy Award for the second year in a row as Outstanding Performer of the meet. Strachan, who had previously qualified for the 100 metre dash, won that event in a wind-aided 11.22 seconds. She also ran a qualifying time for the 200 metres, posting a legal record-breaking mark of 22.85.As a final fillip, she anchored the 4 x 100 metre under 20 girls relay quartet to victory.

Girls under 20 200 metre dash – Antonique Strachan (Bahamas) — 22.85 seconds
Boys under 17 110 metre hurdles – Jaheel Hydes (Jamaica) — 13.96 seconds
Boys under 17 Javelin Throw – Anderson Peters (Grenada) — 60.80 metres
Girls under 17 Discus Throw – Paul-Ann Gayle (Jamaica) — 43.39
Girls under 17 Javelin Throw – Tynell Gumbs (British Virgin Islands) — 41.46 metres
Girls under 17  Shot Put – Chelsea James (Trinidad and Tobago) — 14.02 metres
