Cayman Airways supports Cayman Invitational track meet
Cydonie Mothersill is proud that Cayman Airways will be the first to introduce visiting athletes to the Cayman Islands.
Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) is the proud sponsor and the carrier of choice for local track star Cydonie Mothersil and all athletes competing in the Cayman Invitational track meet on 9 May. The Cayman Invitational is the first North America Central America and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) certified permit meet to be held in the Cayman Islands and the event is positioned to become a permanent highlight on the Cayman Islands Sports Tourism calendar.
Cayman Airways is flying in over 80 of the visiting athletes and the needed officials, including track stars Yohan Blake and Carmelita Jeter. Cayman Airways is also the name sponsor for the highly anticipated Men’s 200M race. The Men’s 200M will be one of the highlights at the meet and will be headlined by American Olympian Shawn Crawford.
Through this partnership Cayman Airways hopes to create a deeper connection with customers by sharing in and supporting their passion for sports. The airline is a strong champion of sports and this sponsorship will enable them to enhance the fan experience for those in the stands at this inaugural meet.
Event organiser and Caymanian athlete Cydonie Mothersill was overjoyed to have Cayman Airways as the airline partner for the meet. “Cayman Airways is an ambassador of the Cayman Invitational and their support will help to strengthen the connections to sports and tourism,” she said. “This event has grown tremendously and I thank the management of Cayman Airways for their unwavering support and for helping us coordinate travel for over eighty professional athletes.”
“Cayman Airways takes great pride in contributing to the world of sports in the Cayman Islands and the Cayman Invitational promises to be a highly competitive and exciting event having attracted some of the world’s best competitors to our shores,” said Olivia Scott Ramirez, Marketing & Public Relations Manager for Cayman Airways. “Athletics is a great platform to showcase a destination and as the national flag carrier of the Cayman Islands, Cayman Airways is thrilled to be the first to welcome these athletes to the Cayman Islands.”
The Cayman Invitational takes place at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex and will feature over 80 professional athletes.
