TCI appoints new director of its Financial Services Commission
The Turks and Caicos Financial Services Commission has appointed Mr Anthony Arthur Roberts as its new director.
Mr Roberts has more than 40 years experience in the Insurance industry and held many Management positions throughout the years. He acted as a consultant for one of the
largest Insurance company in Belgium “Assurances Generales”, assisting with the implementation of systems, procedures and product designs to enable them to market
unit-linked life insurance.
Commenting on this new appointment, the Managing Director of the Commission Mr Kevin Higgins, noted that it was the first time that an experienced Actuary was appointed
to the Commission’s Board. He added that following the focus of the TCI to growing International Insurance, this appointment was timely and that Mr Roberts’s wealth of
experience would be a valuable asset to the Commission.
Mr Roberts is an active member of the Caribbean Actuarial Association and acted as its Standing Life Committee chairman for 10 years. He currently serves as Chief Actuary for
the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics (Hons) from the University of the West Indies and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
The new appointed Director will join the Board of the Commission early this month for its annual general meeting in Providenciales.
