Careers Expo attracts sponsors and exhibitors
Twenty-seven exhibitors and several corporate companies have signed up to support the Chamber of Commerce’s Careers Expo, which takes place on Friday, 8 February.
The expo will be held at the University College of the Cayman Islands from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and exhibitors will provide information on their available scholarships, training, and employment opportunities to high school and college students.
Among the sponsors are National Workforce Development Agency, Steppingstones, Cayman Finance, Butterfield Bank, Dart and Baraud.
“The Chamber is pleased to see that so many of our members really see the benefit of investing this time in Cayman’s student population. Almost all of these sponsors and exhibitors offer scholarship or training opportunity for young people in our community. Although originally geared towards students, we are happy to say that many other sectors of the community including those looking for employment, advice or a career change are well represented,” noted Wil Pineau, Chamber CEO
“National Workforce Development Agency is delighted to be a major sponsor for the Chamber’s Careers, Education Training & Jobs Expo 2013. Partnerships such as this foster harmonious working relationships with all stakeholders resulting in tangible outcomes such as lifelong learning experiences, job opportunities and a skilled workforce, which ultimately contribute to the success of businesses and our islands,” stated Lois Kellyman, Manager Employment Services.
Elizabeth Depledge, Senior Manager, Head of Human Resources and Butterfield Bank, stated: “Butterfield is proud once again, to be a major sponsor of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Careers, Education, Training and Jobs Expo 2013. Butterfield is committed to recruiting and retaining the best and brightest talent, through dedicated recruitment, and continuous development and promotion of our human capital. We believe, and are committed to identifying quality over quantity employees, and seek not only those with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience, but also those with the best attitudes – a “can do” attitude, with a team spirit, and those willing to do what it takes to learn and excel in their roles.”
