Cayman Brac's Lions Club collect donations for Haiti

Published on Friday, January 29, 2010 Email To Friend    Print Version

The Lions Club of Cayman Brac is working to raise CI$ 500 among its members to donate to Haiti through Lions International, which they will follow with a collection drive for clothing, bedding, easy-to-open food items and medical supplies to send to the Lions Club des Gonaives, about 90 miles outside of Port-au-Prince. Cayman Brac´s Leos Club has allocated some of its fundraising funds to helping the victims of Haiti as well.

“As a Lion the first thing we look to do is to serve,” said Lion’s Club President Ventisha Conolly, “and the people of Haiti really need for us and the world at large to help them rebuild. Though we might feel that we are small, we all know that it takes a lot of small things to make big changes, and if we can make a big change for one life in Haiti, we are going to try.”

For more information, or if you would like to donate money or supplies to the Lions Club of Cayman Brac, contact Ventisha Conolly at 916-0212.
