Sister Islands Agriculture Show Messages

Published on Friday, March 5, 2010 Email To Friend    Print Version

I welcome the return of the Sister Islands Agriculture Show after a one-year absence caused by Hurricane Paloma. As we all know only too well, that hurricane devastated our community, our crops and our livestock.

Today that stark and desolate picture has been replaced by one of hope, new growth and renewal.

Deputy Premier the
Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, JP.
I am delighted by how far we have travelled along the road to recovery, as evidenced by the resurgence of Sister Islands’ farming.

While there is still much to be done, I thank God for giving us the strength, resilience and industry to keep striving towards our rebuilding goals.

I am also proud of the fact that as we rebuild, we are not attempting to merely replace what was there. Instead, we are working as a community to restore with new vision, making things stronger and better than before.

And the same principle applies to the Sister Islands Agriculture Show.

It is heartwarming to see the level of work that has gone into ensuring that this year’s show will be exceptional. I am confident that all the hard work will pay off.

My congratulations go to the organizing committee, the farmers, the businesses and patrons, all of whom have over the years contributed to the success of the show.

Together we will again take the Sister Islands Agriculture Show to even greater heights.

May God bless you all.

Mark Tibbetts Jr, JP
Chairman, Sister Islands
Agriculture Show Committee.
As the Chairman of the Sister Islands Agriculture Show, I am extremely excited to be able to pull our show off this year after major setback caused by Hurricane Paloma. Our committee has worked diligently and put in very long hours to bring together the spectacular line up of booths, displays, entertainment and more. There have been new items included on our programme of events to bring a special cultural flair.

I would like to thank everyone on behalf of the Committee and the Ministry responsible for District Administration and Agriculture for the support in making this year’s event become a reality. We know the show will continue to be a huge success and showcase our natural Heritage and Culture. I look forward to seeing everyone there and hope that you have a most enjoyable time.

God Bless.

Sister Islands District Commissioner, Ernie
Scott, JP
We are thrilled to be hosting the seventh annual Sister Islands Agriculture Show this coming weekend. Although we were unable to put on the Show last year due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Paloma, we advanced all plans to be ready for 2010.

Done on a smaller scale than that of the show held on Grand Cayman, the Sister Islands’ unique atmosphere presents the opportunity to have a more personal touch with the community.

I encourage all to come and experience this year’s show and support our local farmers and entrepreneurs. We also welcome all visitors on island to come out and be a part of one of our biggest celebrations of the year. Come and see all this years show has to offer, “It is yours to explore” and enjoy.
