CNB offers wireless point-of-sale

Published on Sunday, October 11, 2009 Email To Friend    Print Version

Senior Supervisor of Merchant Services at Cayman National Bank, Donna Jackson, presents the wireless Point-of-Sale device to Gary Franklin, IT Manager at Boatswain’s Beach, the first company to receive and utilize the new product.

Cayman National is the first bank to provide Point-of-Sale wireless terminals to its merchants. This new product allows customers the convenience of complete mobility when processing card payments.

The settlement of transactions is no longer only at the cash register but Point-of-Sale devices can now be carried in hand to the customer. For example in restaurants, hosts are able to bring the mobile terminals to the table saving time and energy. Businesses can also now take the Point-of-Sale device with them and complete transactions as the time of delivery of service, such as delivery of pizzas or meals.

Several merchants with Cayman National Bank have already received their wireless terminal and are processing payments for limousine services, poolside, or when making food deliveries.

Another advantage to the customer is the fixed monthly payment for unlimited transactions including all telecommunication costs.

The first customer to sign up was Boatswain’s Beach/Cayman Turtle Farm as they saw the convenience in being able to process payments of refreshments at poolside, at the tables in the restaurant and other areas where fixed lines were not available. The multi-million dollar attraction has been utilising the wireless terminal to the satisfaction of their customers.

Senior Vice President of Card Services, Michele Ebanks, said, “Cayman National saw the need and took the initiative to introduce this highly convenient service to the business community. This simplifies the payment process for many merchants who have welcomed this invaluable facility. We are proud to have delivered a reliable, convenient product that provides complete mobility.”

Customers requiring a wireless terminal are encouraged to contact a Merchant Service Representative at Cayman National Bank for a full demonstration and information on the wireless terminal package.

Cayman National Bank offers a full suite of Visa and MasterCard Debit and Credit Cards and is the only bank that processes cards on-island. The bank has strategically placed 18 ATMs within the Cayman Islands to offer convenience to its customers. Currently customers can access their MasterCard accounts online using Cayman National’s Internet Banking facility.
