Anglican Church reverend to minister in Grand Cayman

Saturday, February 17, 2007

Rev Dr Peter Toon
of the Anglican Church

Rev Dr Peter Toon, who is a key player in the unfolding future of the Anglican churches throughout the world, brings his ministry to the Cayman Islands from Saturday, 24 February to Sunday, 4 March 2007.

Rev Dr Toon is currently the President of the Prayer Book Society of the US and devotes much of his time to producing articles, writing books and speaking to audiences in many parts of the world.

He is dedicated to the upholding of the truth declared in Holy Scripture by the Church, the Body of Christ, and to the faithful unity of the Church, in obedience to her Lord.

Rev Dr Toon is also most conscious of the challenge of faithful Christian thought to the lifestyles and thinking of today’s world.

He has already become known to local readers through his insightful articles that have been published about every three weeks as Theological Commentary in Cayman Net News.

St Alban’s Church of England counts it an honour to have been instrumental in having Reverend Dr Peter Toon among them in the Cayman Islands in this his first tour here.

He is already familiar with other parts of the Caribbean.

Rev Dr Toon will speak on a variety of topics ranging from being born anew as a Christian to the relationship between the thought patterns and teachings of Christianity and of today’s human rights doctrines.

The talks and workshops, to be held in St. Alban’s Church and in Elmslie Church Hall, will be exciting, stimulating and of enormous value to all members of this Cayman Islands community.
