Letter: The king is dead

Published on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

The king is dead; long live Cayman’s ‘king’ of freedom of the press, the irreplaceable Desmond Seales, MBE.

May his spirit continue to guide his successors to his Cayman Net News publishing business; hopefully the newspaper will not disappear now that he’s gone and that CNN will continue to promote and defend free speech in a place in which it is sorely needed.

Desmond gave a voice to those that needed to be heard and his legacy will live long after his passing.

Rest in peace, my friend; you’ve gone to a better place.
